That was our experience, but over the past 20 or so years things may have changed for the better. When we brought our luggage to the room, we had to wait, since the hall to the room is very narrow and a maid clerk had her cart in the hall and so there was no room for us to pass by. From what I know, the Forum tower is a former Howard Johnson hotel. I had the desk clerk change our room to a room trully equipped with a safe, and was given one of the rooms with a view of the hotel lobby. Also, our window was whitewashed on the outside, so whatever view the room had must have been really bad. We were given a room, only to find that it did not have a safe.
I was told that all Forum rooms had a safe. We were booked for the Centurion Tower, but were switched to the Forum tower upon check in. I stayed in the now called Forum tower a total of 1 day in the past 36 years of going to AC.
